Statement of Intent:

My goal is to intrigue and delight with enduring texture, unlikely spatial relationships and fragile balance. I mix the non-traditional and unforeseen with the traditional and familiar. I often place outdoor sculptures where their counterparts in nature could be. I try to capture isolated moments. To do that, I include details such as wind direction and wildlife subjects responding to one another. My sculpture always implies motion.

I'm deliberate in my choices of metals. Each metal weathers at its own distinct rate, and so years of exposure only enhance my sculptures' contrasts. I may choose stainless steel for an outdoor piece because of its reflective quality over distance. I might use steel mesh to create an outdoor sculpture that responds to changing light during a day or a season. I design sculptures to withstand the test of being viewed from every angle. I believe every sculpture should give new pleasure to the same audience at each viewing.
